Hearing God’s Call

Jeremiah 33:1-3

Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down, and if he calls you, you shall say, Speak, Lord, for your servant hears.” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. “And the Lord came and stood, calling as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant hears.”

This is a specific moment when the Lord appears to Samuel and Samuel responds with humility and attentiveness. God speaks to us and we must learn to hear His voice clearly.

Read the Word of God and pray for ears to hear.
Through prayer, become gifted in hearing God’s voice.
Listen to the wisdom of other faithful Christ followers.
Be quick to obey.

Prayer

Our Father,
In the stillness of our hearts, we yearn to hear Your voice.
Amid life’s noise and endless distractions, grant us the clarity to recognize Your call.

Illuminate our journey with Your wisdom, and give us the strength to walk the path You set before us.

May we embrace Your purpose with unwavering faith and bold courage, trusting fully in Your perfect will.

In Your holy name we pray.
